<div dir="ltr">I want to add some to this discussion. It is important to remember that:<div> 1) this is a hobby. we choose to participate because we want to.</div><div> 2) no one should feel obligated to attend a launch or club meeting (see #1)</div><div> 3) things happen and we can't always do what we want to do, people get sick, get busy and have conflicts. that's ok</div><div><br></div><div>I feel that we have a great group of people in NRVR. I really mean that and I look forward to seeing you at our launches. I think that the club adds variety to life and adds value to those who are interested in this kind of thing. At almost every launch we have someone show up for the first time to 'see what it's all about'. I feel it a responsibility to let them see what hobby rocketry is all about, whether they chose to come back or not.</div><div><br></div><div>Not everyone is into rockets and that's OK. I am and probably always will be for a long time because:</div><div>1) it attracts interesting, intelligent people that I want to be with</div><div>2) it give me a chance to use my hands to build rockets and </div><div>3) it gives me a chance to fly the rockets and (usually) enjoy the flight.</div><div><br></div><div>So I think this club, in this part of the world has something to offer. That is why I continue to spend time with all the outreach, setup, etc. If it can make a difference to one person, to inspire them to create or learn or get interested in science, then it is worth it to me. What I am trying to say is that you don't have to come to all the launches. But if the interest isn't there, then we need to scale back on the monthly launches so we don't burn out the people who do try to make it to each launch.</div><div><br></div><div>In an email Tweeks sent out last week it said we were going to have pizza during a members meeting. This is not in our budget, but I will bring hot cocoa and cookies for those who come. If you plan on coming to the meeting between the day and night launch, please let us know. I don't want to have 5 gallons of hot cocoa for 4 people. If you're not sure, that's fine. Just say that so we have some idea how many to plan for.</div><div><br></div><div>There was a very unfortunate accident at a rocket launch in California recently. We will be extra vigilant in regards to safety. With that in mind:</div><div><ul><li>rockets launched at night MUST HAVE HAD A SAFE FLIGHT THAT DAY with a similar motor and configuration to be flown at night. There we be NO exceptions to this rule. We need members to step up and actually volunteer to be there and PERFORM the various launch duties.</p>
